The Culture and Society in the Digital Age Microcluster organizes the “Culture and Social Integration” conference cycle
This MCI, coordinated by Dr. Joan Oleza, is an interdisciplinary research platform that operates under the framework of the VLC/Campus and focuses on the areas of Humanities and Social Sciences, but also incorporates aspects of Applied Physics and Information technology. It is made up of specialists from the University of Valencia, the Polytechnic University of Valencia and CSIC. Researchers of renowned prestige will participate in the cycle, such as Pedro Ruiz Torres, Josep Lluís Gómez, Ernest García, Joan Bautista Peiró, Juan Canales, Constancio Collado, Pilar Bosch, Alicia Jiménez, Àlvar Martínez, Consuelo Císcar, Antonio Bravo, who will speak about the public uses of the past; the political juncture and the journalistic humor; the culture of austerity and sustainability; art and the urban environment; biocleaning in restoration; acoustics and virtual reality in heritage environments, in addition to the analysis of the experience of restoration of the Sistine Chapel, which will open the cycle. Dr. Oleza’s conference “The body and the onlookers. An episode of avant-garde subjectivity” will close the cycle on the 5th of December of 2012. The sessions will be held at the Faculty of Fine Arts of the Polytechnic University, IVAM, San Pío V Museum, López Piñero Institute, the Faculty of Philology and at the Auditorium of the blue cube of the Polytechnic City of Innovation. Free access until seating capacity is reached. Participants will receive a diploma of attendance equivalent to twenty hours.
